INTERIOR PAINTING

DFW Painters _ Painting Company Constable DFW Painting - Interior Painting services

Painting an interior wall and or entire room involves many steps in order to achieve a high-quality look. The type of paint you use is often times the most important decision you can make. High-gloss paint offers greater durability and is very easy to clean. If your wall is less than perfect, however, high-gloss paint can enhance the imperfections. Flat paint will do a much better job of hiding imperfections, but it’s much easier to damage than high-gloss. Eggshell is a great middle-of-the-road option.

Color Selection

After the type of paint to be used has been decided, the next decision is the color used that will best enhance the room. Colors can add depth and texture to your room. Using the right colors can turn an otherwise dull room into a beautiful, warm space. Constable DFW Painting provides clients with paint samples that can be applied on walls. Paint colors will be different on your wall as opposed to the color on the label.

Our experienced painters will spend about 80% of the time preparing the walls. This includes, but is not limited to the following: verifying paint type and color are correct, making sure walls are clean of dirt and flat, all hole and cracks in walls are filled.

CABINET REFINISHING

Many of our clients prefer the option of refinishing their existing cabinets instead of resurfacing or purchasing brand new cabinets. By refinishing existing cabinets our clients get the look of brand new cabinets, while avoiding the major expense of buying new.

Constable DFW Painting offers the following options for cabinet refinishing.

Oil Based Paint

Existing cabinets will  be sprayed with an oil based paint for a smooth finish. Usually all colors from Sherwin Williams can be purchased in an oil based paint. However, dark colors may not always be available in an oil based paint. Oil based paints when they are either sprayed on or rolled on provide our customers with the most durable finish. If our customers have heavy traffic (kids, dogs, etc.) we recommend the option of applying an oil based paint. The one disadvantage of using oil based paints is the strong odor that comes from the paint and paint thinner.

Latex Enamel

Another paint product available to customers is a latex enamel. This water based product is designed to adhere to the cabinet wood, unlike a regular non-enamel water based product that is commonly used for interior walls and ceiling. Similar to oil based products, latex enamel comes in a wide range of colors that are found at many DFW paint stores. Latex enamel can also be used for very dark colors, unlike oil based paints. For customers that are planning to list their home for sale or do not have a lot of foot traffic, latex enamel is an excellent alternative.

Oil-based Stain

The last option available when considering refinishing kitchen cabinets is to apply an oil-based stain. Stains are very durable and provide homeowners with natural wood grain look and feel. In order to correctly stain wood several additional steps are needed to create a natural wood look. These additional steps increase the overall cost of labor, which often times pushes clients towards oil or latex enamel.

Drywall is a staple in almost every modern home. It’s a sturdy, fire-resistant material that’s perfect for building, but it’s not immune to damage. Whether you’re dealing with a minor dent or ding from moving furniture or a full-blown series of holes left behind after plumbing, electrical, or other home repairs. Constable DFW Painting can make your drywall look pristine and new again in less time and with less mess.

Common Causes of Drywall Issues
  • Water leaks
  • Doorknobs/doors opening too far
  • Moving furniture
  • Nails and anchors
  • House settling
  • Children or pets playing
  • Rodents and pests
  • Tile removal or other renovations
  • Electrical, plumbing, or HVAC repairs

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach for fixing drywall damage. Different types of damage require different methods of repair.

  • Holes require removal of the damaged drywall and replacement with new material.
  • Cracks require more specialized treatment to prepare the damage area so it will properly accept the patch material.

Our team members use their experience and expertise to evaluate the damage and determine the proper tools, material, and repair methodology needed to provide a seamless patch every time.

Constable DFW Painting – Drywall Repair You Can Trust!

POPCORN REMOVAL

Popcorn texture was used as a lower cost alternative crack repair. Or, it was used to save on new construction cost of drywall finishing. Either way, removal is just the first step.

After popcorn is removed there will likely be damaged or poorly finished corners or joints which should be repaired. Then all surfaces should be sealed for a consistent appearance. An then, of course, painting comes last.

Leave it to the Pros

Popcorn texture removal is often part of a larger interior painting project. DIY removal is sometimes an option. But, this is very much a messy, low glamour sort of project. Some people have tried to short circuit the process and just paint over the popcorn to freshen it up. Bad Move – latex paint will loosen the popcorn and some of it will peel right off.
